Goodbye Dullness! How to Restore Your Skin After Winter: A Checklist by Margo.Barrier Repair

Winter is always a challenge for the skin. Temperature fluctuations, dry indoor air, and vitamin deficiencies leave their mark: flaking, a grayish complexion, and a feeling of tightness.

How do you bring back that glow and prep your skin for the spring sun? I’ve prepared 3 golden rules for transitioning to your springtime routine.

1. Gentle Renewal

During winter, the skin's stratum corneum thickens to protect itself from the cold. To help the active ingredients in your creams penetrate deeper, you need to gently "wake up" your skin. Forget aggressive scrubs!

  • Margot’s Choice: Enzyme powders or mild lactic acid-based peels. They delicately remove dead cells without damaging the protective barrier.

2. Hydration + Barrier Repair

Hydration alone isn't enough if the protective layer is compromised. You don’t just need to "pour" water in; you need to "lock" it inside.

  • What to look for in ingredients: Ceramides, hyaluronic acid of various molecular weights, and panthenol. These components soothe the skin and restore its elasticity.

3. Vitamin Boost

Spring is the perfect time for antioxidants. Vitamin C helps combat dullness and protects against the first active rays of the sun.

  • Margot’s Tip: Apply a Vitamin C serum in the morning under your SPF. This creates a powerful shield against photo-aging.

Important! Don’t forget your SPF. The spring sun is deceptive, and pigmentation is much easier to prevent than it is to treat.
